With high interest in the treatment of incurable diseases and relevant researches, the Catholic Church has been advocating and supporting research on adult stem cell that does not involve life destruction. Cardinal Nicholas Cardinal Cheong Jin Suk, the Committee for Life in the Archdiocese of Seoul was launched on October 5, 2005 as an organization under the direct control of Seoul Archdiocese in order to play the role as a social organization that changes the trends of treating life lightly such as embryonic stem cell research, human cloning and abortion and to plays the role.
The committee is exerting efforts to realize patients' hopes through developing new medical treatments and to give substantial supports and helps to those working for the treatment of incurable diseases so that they may make breakthroughs in cell therapy and medical R&D.
