Clinical Clusters include the cell therapy centers of eight hospitals under Catholic Medical Center. As of February 2006, cell therapy centers are being operated by St. Mary's Hospital, Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital, Euijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital and Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital, and a cell therapy center will be opened by Daegu Fatima Hospital on February 23 2006. Cell therapy centers will be operated by all of the eight affiliated hospitals with this year, and extend their activities to hospitals in other areas

BMT (Bone Marrow Transplantation)

Catholic Medical Center and Catholic Institute of Cell Therapy have achieved significant results from steady research on adult stem cell for treating incurable diseases. We succeeded in transplanting hemopoietic stem cell, which is a representative adult stem cell, in 1983 first in Korea, solidifying our leading position in the field of hemopoietic stem cell transplantation. Soon after in 1983, we also succeeded in the treatment of chronic leukemia and acute aplastic anemia. Moreover, we continued bone marrow transplantations and, as a result, St. Mary's Hospital broke the record of 2,500 cases of bone marrow transplantation in 2005 fifthly in the world and firstly in Asia and proved that it is the most prominent hospital in adult stem cell therapy for bone marrow transplantation.
